Congrats to Brandon on his new job! He's been looking for a while and has finally landed on out here in KC. Since we have this lovely house and no one to enjoy it, besides just us two, we offered him to stay here for three weeks until his apartment is ready. He brought along his pooch Achilies. Now Daisy has a 100 lb friend to play with.

Holidays: 4th of July
It's Independence Day! Time to celebrate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776 with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, and baseball games. This is one of my favorite Holidays! I just love having fun with family and friends on a 3 day weekend.

Hot Concerts: Chris Young
Awesome free Chris Young Concert at The Power & Light District. The Best concert I've seen there so far! Joe and I decided that we'd leave when we wanted to so we could still get up and go to work. He had one beer and we left towards the end of the concert. We didn't pay much of anything so I didn't feel bad leaving before the end. Chris Young was so awesome!
So costs for the night:
Concert: Free
Parking: Free
Dinner: Free - At home
Beer: $10 - At Concert

Serving Dish Options
In preparation for my Lunch Party with friends, I've been clearing out my cabinets of serving dishes to see what I have and what I might need to buy. All guests are asked to bring an appetizer to share and I'm going to provide a few desserts and all the beverages. I can't decide if I want to make a few extra appetizers to have a bigger variety or not. I guess we'll have to see how busy I am that week in preparation.
The Small Bowl Caddy with the Small Square Bowls are perfect for my Chocolate and White Chocolate Covered Pretzels. I love making the melted concoction and these bowls are the perfect size to display them. I also love using the set for salsa and guacamole.
I recently got this Trifle Bowl but haven't even gotten the chance to take it out of the box. I can't wait to put a beverage in it with a ladle and use it as a punch bowl, or maybe I'll use it as a layered dessert bowl, or maybe a center-piece with flowers. I just love that there are so many options with this versatile bowl! I'm really thinking that a lemonade or punch with fresh fruit would look best.
I haven't gotten a chance to use this lovely Large Rectangular Platter with Handles that we received as a wedding gift. Over one year later and I'm determined to use it. I'll try to think of something to do with it. Possibly I'll display some small sandwiches.
Along with the pieces above from Pampered Chef, I have the following pieces that were received from our wedding registry that have yet to be used.
Now I just have to figure out what to do with these other serving dishes, or if I want to purchase something different.
