Go Royals: Waiting for Tickets

Horray! Sarah came to visit before moving out to California.  We planned on doing nothing but wait in line for Royals Tickets.  Who does that you may ask?  Well, apparently those who only want opening day tickets and those crazy enough to wait in the freezing cold for 3 hours to buy Cardinals vs Royals tickets.  That's right I'm a die-hard Cardinals Fan but I'm to cheap to go to STL to watch the game.  So Sarah and I got in line at 6:30am and waited with about 900 people to buy tickets when they went on sale at 9am.  I can't wait until June to watch my teams battle it out in some awesome seats!  The Royals Staff were so nice to offer us adorable spirit cupcakes and some hot coffee.  Sarah and I laughed at the fans who were enjoying some beer before 8am while waiting.  Now those are some serious fans!

Wilton Course 2 - Finale

This cake was SO much fun. We used the flowers made in previous sessions and leared basketweave in class.

Winter Wonderland: The Power & Light District

Such a beautiful view of the snow downtown Kansas City.  I just had to take a picture of the snow falling after going out to dinner with some friends.

Wilton Course 2 - Royal Icing Flowers

Here's some quick pictures I took of the flowers I made for Course 2.  I had so much fun learning to make the different kinds.  Now I've just got to find something to use my skills for.  Those daffodils were so hard!

Thomas the Train Cake: Part 3

Here's the result of my first cake order.  Thomas turned out fantastic!  The family loved the cake and I'm sure the little boy was in awe even though he was only two.

Thomas the Train Cake: Part 2

Today I carved the cake into the shape of Thomas the Train and iced the base layer on.  Tomorrow is when the decorating comes in.  I'm really looking forward to working on it.

Thomas the Train Cake: Part 1

Tonight I decided to bake the cake for Thomas.  I'm making a Thomas the Train cake for C's birthday on Saturday. He turns 2 and I'm sure he's going to LOVE it!  M and A wanted it half chocolate and half vanilla.  I had an 'almost' disaster by forgetting to grease the pan.  Good thing I realized it before I baked it.  It was challenging to get the batter out without mixing it, but thanks to my husband it turned out alright.
